OneDX Platform Imparts New Vision for Medical Imaging Access in the US. An interview with Kayo Olufowobi, Founder and CEO, OneDX.

Q:Tell us about your company.

A: Fairfield, Connecticut-based OneDX, established in 2008, furnishes technology solutions that allow health care information to be accessed and exchanged swiftly and securely. Asa result, physicians, specialists and patients can collaborate and make health care decisions based on accurate information without undue lag time. Our flexible applications interface with any platform and insure secure data transmission that meets Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.

Q: What is your most popular product?

A: Our flagship product is the OneDX Physician Patient Portal, a multi-platform medical image management solution. The application allows physicians and patients to securely access and share medical images and reports quickly and easily on any device, from anywhere in the world. The portal facilitates the management of more than 1.5 million medical cases annually, including those generated by two large imaging centers in Connecticut and New York.
Fueling OneDX’s unmatched record for image access and sharing (more than 400,000 exams annually) is a proprietary chassis that integrates with any picture archiving communication system (PACS); electronic health record (EHR); or interface engine in less than 24 hours, and enables downloads of multiple studies simultaneously from remote points.

Q: Who are your end users?

A: Our primary end users are the referring physicians and radiologists who analyze and confer on image results and assist the patient in making health care decisions. With the OneDX Physician Patient Portal, the patients, too, exercise influence in health care decisions since the portal allows them to share images with consulting physicians.

The orbit of end users, potentially, is much more extensive. As health care enterprises becoming more cost-conscious as a consequence of the Affordable Care Act, they are trimming waste and building coordinated health care delivery systems. OneDX applications allow health care enterprises to advance toward both objectives by lessening the likelihood of duplicative images being generated and by reducing security barriers that constrain health care enterprises from sharing patient images and records. Our solution eliminates the need to disrupt client firewalls or to leave ports vulnerable to intrusions. In addition, OneDX applications enable health care organizations to collect patient data to meet emerging federal health care initiatives, including EHR use to improve the quality of patient care.

Q: What differentiates your company?

A: The OneDX Physician Patient Portal provides unparalleled connectivity among physicians, patients and institutions. Our vendor-neutral solution can communicate and exchange information with EHRs, PACS, radiology information systems, laboratory information systems, vendor-neutral archives, or compliant archives remotely from any iOS, Android or Windows OS device.

Additionally, our portal provides unlimited access and delivery of medical images and reports to physicians, health care professionals and patients. A patient summering in New England can download imaging studies from a Florida health care facility, for example, and share them with a consulting physician in Boston. A health care decision that might have taken weeks to make in the near-bygone days of image delivery via CD now can occur within days because of OneDX.

Q: How can people contact your company?

A: Watch demonstrations of the OneDX application at the 2016 HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition, Feb. 29 - March 4, 2016, in the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Las Vegas, Booth #12049. For more information about OneDX, email info@onedx.com or call 877-798-5773.
